06 Clara Marie Towry Roland

When Clara Marie TOWRY was born on July 19, 1932, in Fayetteville, Tennessee, her father, Tillman, was 35, and her mother, Ollie, was 24. She was the sixth born child.

She married Homer Earl ROLAND on August 25, 1946, in Madison, Alabama. They had three children during their marriage.

Memorial services for Diane Simmons, age 66 of Fayetteville, conducted at Higgins Funeral Home. Mrs. Simmons passed away Wednesday at her residence.

She was a native of Lincoln County and the daughter of the late Homer and Clair Marie Towry Roland.

Mrs. Simmons was a owner/operator of Carpet Liquidators, a home decorator and former Emergency Medical Technician at the Mayo Clinic.

Survivors include her husband Fonnie Ray Simmons of Fayetteville, two sons Tracy (Teresa) Simmons and Mark (Sue) Simmons all of Fayetteville, grandchildren Freddie Arnold, Lance Simmons, Matt Percy, Hannah Simmons, Leslie Reese, Joe Bee Croft, great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Zoey and Landon, one brother Marvin (Diane) Roland, one sister Barbara Roland and sister-in-law Sandra Faye Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Thomas Hospital.

Higgins Funeral Home is assisting the family of Diane Simmons. 

She died on June 17, 2013, in her hometown at the age of 80, and was buried in Lincoln, Tennessee.
